Most Western weddings follow the same flow: getting ready, the ceremony, photos with family and friends, portraits at golden hour, then dinner and dancing. This is how that looked at real weddings we covered in Koh Samui, Bangkok, Hua Hin and Krabi, and what we photograph and film at each moment.

Getting ready

The last quiet hours before the ceremony. At The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui, the bride got ready with her bridesmaids in soft window light while the groom dressed in his beige suit, before Rui and Heng walked down to their ceremony by the sea.

A ceremony on the beach

Amanda and Rob said their vows on the sand at Baan Puri: a coral-red arch, gold chairs, petals down the aisle and the sea behind them. Afterwards the whole bridal party walked down the beach together.

A garden ceremony in the city

You do not need a beach for a Western wedding in Thailand. Tara and Alastair married under a floral arch in the garden of The Botanical House in Bangkok, then celebrated with both families on the lawn.

A seafront ceremony at a resort

Jakub and Clear married under a pink and white floral ring on the seafront at Sheraton Hua Hin, about three hours from Bangkok. Before the ceremony, the bride and her bridesmaids raised a glass in the suite.
What we capture: Toasts with your bridesmaids, the vows under the arch, and the walk back down the aisle as a married couple.

After their garden ceremony at Rayavadee, Alessandra and Bruno walked down to the beach as the sun went down behind the limestone islands of Krabi. We keep portraits short and relaxed, so you are back with your guests quickly.

First dance and party
Rayavadee, Krabi · Baan Puri, Koh Samui · Sheraton Hua Hin
Then the music starts. Sparklers by the sea at Rayavadee, fire dancers on the beach at Baan Puri, a bouquet toss under the lights at Sheraton Hua Hin. We stay until the end of your coverage, so the party is in your photos and your film too.

The ceremony
What happens at a Western wedding ceremony?
A Western wedding ceremony usually takes 20 to 40 minutes. The bridal party walks in, a celebrant welcomes the guests, the couple say their vows and exchange rings, and they are declared married with a first kiss. At beach and resort weddings in Thailand the ceremony is usually led by a celebrant, often arranged through your venue or wedding planner.

Where do Western couples get married in Thailand?
Most of the Western weddings we cover take place in Koh Samui and Phuket for the beaches, Krabi for its limestone cliffs, Hua Hin and Pattaya for beach resorts close to Bangkok, Bangkok itself for hotel and garden weddings, and Chiang Mai for weddings in the mountains. These are some of the venues where we have photographed and filmed weddings.

When is the best season for a beach wedding?
Phuket, Krabi and Khao Lak on the Andaman Sea are usually driest from November to April. Koh Samui on the Gulf of Thailand has a different pattern: it is usually dry from January to August and wettest from October to December. Wherever you marry, ask your venue for a rain plan.

A wedding day has no second take. This is how we make sure nothing is missed, without getting in the way of you and your guests.

Plan the day around the light
Before the wedding we go through your timeline, your family photo list and the venue rules. In Thailand the sun sets between about 5:45 and 6:50 pm, depending on the month, so we help you time the ceremony and portraits for golden hour.

Photo and film, one team
Two photographers and three cinematographers work together, so several angles are covered at once: the bride walking in and the groom’s face as he sees her. The documentary film keeps your full vows and speeches.

Natural, not staged
We guide you lightly for portraits, then step back. Most of your photos and film are real moments with the people you love, edited in natural, timeless colour.

Western wedding photography with Koro Films starts from 30,000 THB for 6 hours with 2 photographers. Film starts from 45,000 THB (6 hours, 3 cinematographers) and photo + film from 75,000 THB (6 hours, a team of 5). Our best-selling packages are 8 hours: 40,000 THB for photos, 60,000 THB for film or 100,000 THB for both. A one-day wedding in Bangkok has no travel fee.

How much does a Western wedding photographer cost in Thailand?
Our Western wedding packages start from 30,000 THB for 6 hours of photography with 2 photographers. Film starts from 45,000 THB (6 hours, 3 cinematographers) and photo + film from 75,000 THB. The best-selling 8-hour packages are 40,000 THB for photos, 60,000 THB for film and 100,000 THB for both. Travel outside Bangkok is extra.
What is the difference between the photo, film and photo + film packages?
Photo packages include 2 photographers and edited high-resolution photos. Film packages include 3 cinematographers, a cinematic highlight film and a 30–45 minute documentary film. Photo + film combines both teams, 5 people in total, so the whole day is covered in photos and on film.
How many hours of coverage do we need?
Six hours usually covers the ceremony, portraits and dinner. Eight hours, our best seller, adds getting ready or more of the party. Ten hours covers the full day, from getting ready to the last dance. On our package page, film coverage is listed as 4 pm–10 pm for 6 hours, 3 pm–11 pm for 8 hours and 2 pm–midnight for 10 hours.
Do you travel to Koh Samui, Phuket and Krabi?
Yes. We are based in Bangkok and cover weddings all over Thailand. Travel and team accommodation cost 5,000 THB per team for Pattaya, Hua Hin and Rayong, 10,000 THB per team for Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Koh Lanta and Koh Chang, and 14,000 THB (2 photographers) or 21,000 THB (3 cinematographers) for Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi and Phang Nga. A one-day wedding in Bangkok has no travel fee.
Do you photograph small weddings and elopements?
Yes. For a small wedding of 2 to 20 guests that needs only 2 cinematographers, send us your date and plans and we will put together a custom package and price. If none of our packages fits your day, we can also customise one.
Is a beach wedding in Thailand legally binding?
Usually not on its own. A beach or resort ceremony is a celebration; to be legally married in Thailand you register at a Thai district office (amphoe) with documents from your embassy. Many couples marry legally at home and hold the celebration in Thailand. Your embassy or wedding planner can tell you exactly what you need.
When is the best time of year for a beach wedding in Thailand?
